Week 10: Spooky Season

Image
Week 10: Spooky Season Hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend and welcome to November football. The college football slate stuck to the theme of the weekend and it was a terrifying experience for some top teams and their fans. Grab a handful of candy and let's settle in. A Week (9) in Review Favorite Game: USC vs Arizona We head out to the desert this week for my favorite game of the week. Crazy things happen in Tucson and every year there were points to go around (and the over of 76! hit). Caleb Williams threw touchdowns of every variety; on schedule, off schedule, finger breakers, he had it all working. Unfortunately for the Trojan faithful their defense let the Wildcats stick around. USC relied heavily on a lot of turnover luck early in the season but have been less consistent as the year has gone on. Give Jayden de Laura credit, he made plays with his feet and arm and kept this one close for a fun game. Favorite Uniform: Tennessee Volunteers 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀...

Week 9: Winning Ugly

Image
Week 9: Winning Ugly I hope you all got outside and enjoyed the warm weather before fall and winter really set in. If you spent all day at the apple orchard and Saturday night watching the Phillies hit the ball all over the yard no worries, we got you covered. A Week (8) in Review Favorite Game: Oklahoma State vs Texas The Longhorns bring out the best in people and once again they are in this slot as losers. While Quinn Ewers should have a long leash to make freshman mistakes, he is that good, it will result in a loss like it did on Saturday. The Pokes were touchdown underdogs at home versus the Longhorns and didn't know if they would have their signal caller until late Friday, so give them credit. The Big 12 does good embracing the Wild West and this was a gun slingin' battle, but the Cowboys prevailed with a late (and third) pick proving too much for the Longhorns to overcome. Favorite Uniform: University of Buffalo Can't wait to see these in action on Saturday! #UBhorn...

Week 8: Ranked on Ranked and 2nd Quarter Awards

Week 8: Ranked on Ranked and 2nd Quarter Awards We are halfway through the weeks of the regular season! The leaves are turning, there is a crisp in the air (or the furnace has been turned down in the South), and hopefully the pumpkin patch has enough service for you to stream the games when you have to leave your couch. A historic week for 5-0+ matchups and ranked on ranked games. Let's jump in! A Week (3) in Review Favorite Game: Tennessee vs Alabama Rocky Top is back! Call it a track meet, a basketball game, the Game of the Year, just don't say it was boring. Two offenses executing at the highest level, a gutsy performance by Bryce Young, and Hendon Hooker never blinking. Alabama has been sloppy on the road this year and it finally got them. Tennessee goes fast, runs the ball physically, and stacks their receivers to get vertical passing lanes. Holding Bama to 2 sacks is a feat that should be talked about more; it is hard to throw down the field against a team that gets hom...

Week 7: Red (River) Wedding

Image
Week 7: Red (River) Wedding Conference schedules are in full swing and the air is crisp. Did anyone think the Longhorns would win 49-0 even two weeks ago? From the jump on Saturday we had some fun games and crazy outcomes. Let's dive in! A Week (6) in Review Favorite Game: Alabama vs Texas A&M Tried to overthink this one but I couldn't do it. Ever since Jimbo Fisher and Nick Saban got into it this off-season everyone was looking forward to this game. Alabama started a backup quarterback and looked sloppy, something we have seen recently when on the road but not at home, and squeaked this on out. Everyone has been saying that Jimbo has been too vanilla with his play calls this year and he didn't change the narrative with his final play call on 4th and goal. Milroe looked great in the run game but turned the ball over three times and the Crimson Tide had a litany of penalties. Can Saban button up the troops before they get burned by the gauntlet of the SEC West? Time wi...

Week 6: A New Number 1?

Image
Week 6: A New Number 1? We almost had a way more fun weekend if Georgia would not have came back to win against Mizzou! Awesome games from start to finish and a ton of ranked on ranked games. Did the Bulldogs show that the Golden Flashes of Kent State were onto something? Is Bama back on top? What about the Buckeyes up north? Let's dive in! A Week (5) in Review Favorite Game: Kentucky vs Ole Miss Good teams win, great teams cover. At least that is what Mark Stoops can tell himself as Kentucky lost in heart breaking fashion. Early in the week Lane Kiffin made sure the Ole Miss faithful knew they had to finish their drinks in the Grove early and get into the stadium for the early kick off. Ole Miss rocked camo helmets and came out firing. Kentucky seems like a team that wants to be more physical than they actually are, losing the rushing yards battle 108 to 186. UK had plenty of chances to win but kept turning the ball over in enemy territory (including the final fumble after a gam...
