Drafting Super Bowl Futures with Alex Garibaldi

Drafting Super Bowl Futures with Alex Garibaldi It's a two-blog week! Alex is back on to do one of our favorite activities: draft. But we won't be drafting players this time, we are drafting teams to win the Super Bowl ahead of the Super Wildcard Weekend. There is a twist though. We are drafting the teams if we had to place one futures bet on the Super Bowl. So the Chiefs may be our favorite, but we may like the odds we are getting from other teams better.  Alex and I will do a snake draft and I gave him the honor of picking first. Since it is a snake draft I get the 2nd and 3rd picks and then we go back and forth until all 14 teams are picked. The odds were pulled on Thursday from DraftKings and may be subject to change. Hopefully this gets the juices flowing for the home stretch of football! The Draft 1st Pick:   Eagles +550 Alex Reasoning:   4th best odds for arguably the best team in the league during the regular season? Sign me up. Health will be an issue but I ...

Thoughts on the National Championship

Thoughts on the National Championship First off, let's take a moment to be sad that college football is over. Now, let's talk about the beatdown from Georgia, how the game was won and lost, and what it means going forward! 1. Georgia is combining the best of the past, present, and future of college football. Georgia's bread and butter is their ruthless efficiency. They constantly could get five yards whenever they wanted and any mistake TCU made on offense was taken advantage of. This reminds me of the late 2000's / early 2010's LSU and Alabama teams that just put the chokehold on you and suffocated you for 60 minutes. BUT! They also combined that efficiency with big momentum plays. College football is no longer a game that can be won 21-14 at the highest level, the athletes are too good. There were explosive plays made on both sides of the ball to win last night. There were concepts from air raid, spread option, the power counter offense, Shanahan-esque tight split...

National Championship and NFL Week 18 with Alex Garibaldi First off, I want to start the week by saying how awesome it is that Damar Hamlin is now awake and responsive. That was certainly a terrifying moment on Monday night. I obviously did not play the sport past high school so I want to share Ryan Clark's conversation with Scott Van Pelt as he did such a great job talking on Monday night. I also wanted to share Domonique Foxworth's appearance on The Ryen Russillo Podcast as he talked about how he would've responded when he worked for the Players' Union. Amazing stuff by two men who played at the highest level. Bowl Week 3 Thoughts Friday was full of physical games and back and forth's and started a weekend where we remembered why we love the bowl season... Alabama brought the physicality for 60 minutes and Kansas State could not hang... Amazing semifinals. A ton of broken plays in the desert and Quentin Johnston is an absolute stud. I think Michigan was not rea...
