Week 14: Gobbled Up and Conference Championship Week Preview

Image
Week 14: Gobbled Up and Conference Championship Week Preview I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday! A lot of teams saw their playoff hopes gobbled up and chaos reigned all rivalry weekend. I know my eyes are crossed after four days of watching games last week, but it was a great time. Let's dive in! A Week (13) in Review Favorite Game: Florida State vs Florida A lot of games to pick from this week! I will go with the Seminoles and Gators. Florida had a rough entrance into the game after losing to Vanderbilt, but wanted to end the regular season on a high note. It was a sloppy game, with both teams just taking big swings and missing plenty, but that made it a ton of fun. Jordan Travis was electric for Florida State and I think Mike Norvell's squad will have a ton of expectations on them heading into next year. One last note, learn to lower the shoulder, Jordan, coming up short at the goal line on a slide was quite embarrassing even if you ended up scoring. Favorite ...

Week 13: Coming into Focus

Week 13: Coming into Focus For everyone who was panicking over how we would fit all these teams into the playoffs, we got some answers this weekend. Absolutely amazing weekend of college ball with some tight games and some surprise victories. I hope you all enjoy and have a Happy Thanksgiving. Here we go! A Week (12) in Review Favorite Game: Baylor vs TCU Everyone was giving the Horned Frogs grief for a close game until their own teams started to struggle. TCU has survived a gauntlet of big games this year in what is probably the second best conference. Baylor has had a disappointing season but has a talented roster and a tough home field to win at. Give the kicker credit for not rushing as he ran out to kick the field goal with time ticking away. It was a master class in staying calm and the Horned Frogs are two wins away from CFP glory. Amazing tweet too by the Horned Frogs Twitter account: justbearly.mp4 #GoFrogs #DFWBig12Team pic.twitter.com/zvvpw2RIUK — TCU Football ...

Week 12: Chaos Theory and 3rd Quarter Awards

Week 12: Chaos Theory and 3rd Quarter Awards See, here I'm now sitting by myself, uh, er, talking to myself. That's, that's chaos theory. - Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jurassic Park) Each week the games get bigger and the stakes higher. Only two weeks left before the conference championships, let's dive in! A Week (11) in Review Favorite Game: Washington vs Oregon Oh Pac-12, how you live in chaos. Oregon was being talked about as a good bet to place to make the playoffs. Autzen stadium at night is usually death to opposing teams. But no one told Michael Penix Jr. and the Huskies. What they have lacked in consistency they make up for with a high ceiling if everything is clicking. Oregon ran the ball up and down the field and chucked it around a decent amount as well, but two costly fumbles hurt the Ducks. Oregon can still make the Rose Bowl, but I'm sure they were hoping to play for more. Favorite Uniform: Michigan State Spartans A salute to service for Saturday's Militar...

Week 11: Everything in Front of You

Image
Week 11: Everything in Front of You First week of football after the College Football Playoff rankings came out. Saw a lot of teams know they had everything in front of them and tense up while others rose to the occasion. While I could rant about the inconsistencies of the rankings like everyone else, fortunately we see answers almost immediately. This is winning time in college football.  A Week (10) in Review Favorite Uniform and Game: Alabama vs LSU Not taking a jersey here, but rather the whole ensemble. A night game in Death Valley; LSU in their white jerseys with yellow helmets versus Alabama in their Crimson best with black cleats and white socks. The beautiful grass turf with numbers every five yards instead of ten and the eye of the tiger at center field. Part of my love for college football is that I am a very nostalgic person. Growing up I loved watching games with my dad, with my high school friends in one of our basements, or in a crappy house in West Lafayette ...
