College Football Week 14 and NFL Week 13 Preview: 11/30 - 12/04

College Football Week 14 and NFL Week 13 Preview: 11/30 - 12/04 Thursday, November 30th What to Watch For Game of the Day: Seahawks at Cowboys Seahawks are 2-3 on the road but need a win to stay in the hunt for the playoffs heading down the stretch. The Cowboys crush lower teams and struggle against the top of the league. What gives here? Will be watching how the teams respond after having a full week to prepare since they played on Thursday last week. Picks of the Day Pick: u46.5 (-112) Seahawks vs Cowboys Primetime unders are the gift that keep on giving. Friday, December 1st What to Watch For Game of the Day: Washington vs Oregon Washington won the first game, but consensus is on the Ducks for Friday night. Oregon has been a wrecking crew since their loss to Washington, but I still worry about Dan Lanning in close games late. Will Washington be able to complete the undefeated season? This could be the best game of the weekend. A Game for the Football Crazies: New Mexico State ...

Thoughts on College Football's Week 13 and NFL Week 12

Thoughts on College Football's Week 13 and NFL Week 12 1. Best of the Week Best Game: The Iron Bowl (Alabama vs Auburn) This game never disappoints. Auburn had no reason to be in this game except for the fact that it was a home rivalry game. Payton Thorne led the Tigers well and they confused Jalen Milroe quite a bit. But on a 4th and Goal from the 25 he heaved up a prayer and the football gods answered. What a tough loss for Auburn. Can Alabama capitalize and make the CFP with a win against Georgia? Best Player: Rashan Gary (EDGE) - Packers Never bet on the Lions on Thanksgiving. Detroit came in flying high, but Gary went off, with 3 sacks, 7 total tackles, and a fumble recovery. Gary is a former number one recruit out of high school, but never quite figured out how to translate that talent into huge counting stats for the Wolverines. Credit to him for working on his craft and unlocking his full potential. The Packers may have questions on offense, but Gary has the defense on lo...

College Football Week 12 and NFL Week 11 Preview: 11/23 - 11/27

College Football Week 12 and NFL Week 11 Preview: 11/23 - 11/27 The apex mountain of the football season is this weekend. We are going to mix it up on the picks and do at least one pick for every gametime (early afternoon, late afternoon, and evening) Thursday-Sunday (16 picks in total!!!!). I don't know when people will be watching football, but we can have skin in the game whenever we happen to have the tv focused on the pigskin this weekend. Thursday, November 23rd What to Watch For Game of the Day: Commanders at Cowboys Nothing better than NFC East rivals playing against each other on Thanksgiving. The Commanders have the most passing yards in the NFL, but Micah Parsons will feast on the most sacked quarterback with all those drop backs. Can Dak calm down and just take what the defense gives him? That's what I'll be watching. Most Entertaining Game: Ole Miss at Mississippi State The Egg Bowl! Who can forget Ole Miss losing because a receiver pretended to pee on the fo...

Thoughts on College Football's Week 12 and NFL Week 11

Thoughts on College Football's Week 12 and NFL Week 11 A light week on the recap blog as we will have a big preview for the Thanksgiving weekend. Let's party. 1. Best of the Week Best Game: Appalachian State vs James Madison They came to town, saw the Dukes get all the praise on GameDay, and pulled out a win in overtime as ten point underdogs. How many teams get 48 rushing yards and find a way to win? A back and forth, muddy affair. God bless the Sunbelt. Best Player: Jalen Ramsey (CB) - Dolphins Ramsey was a big off-season acquisition, but a preseason injury made for a rocky start in Miami. The Raiders aren't know for their firepower, but they do have Davante Adams, and Ramsey showed the rookie O'Connell why teams generally avoid his half of the field. Two pass deflections and two picks, the second to seal the win, is a way to put the league on notice. Best Uniform: Texans Red h🔥t 🔴🔵🔵 pic.twitter.com/6SEJMeEIV9 — Houston Texans (@HoustonTexans) November 15, 2023...

College Football Week 12 and NFL Week 11 Preview: 11/16 - 11/20

College Football Week 12 and NFL Week 11 Preview: 11/16 - 11/20 Thursday, November 16th What to Watch For Game of the Day: Bengals at Ravens The game of the weekend in the pro ranks is on Thursday night. Both teams lost in wild fashion this past week. Both teams have MVP frontrunners at quarterback and a plethora of weapons. The AFC North literally hits different, so this will be a fun one for Kirk and Al. Most Entertaining Game: Boston College at Pittsburgh BC ran into a buzzsaw against Virginia Tech but have a fun brand of football with a really athletic quarterback who can raise the ceiling of the team quite a bit. What is Narduzzi going to do against him? This is worth turning on for the Pitt uniforms alone, so turn it on when BC has the ball and not the other way around (yikes, that Pitt offense). Picks of the Day First Pick: u46 (-110) Bengals vs Ravens Sticking with unders in prime time. Friday, November 17th What to Watch For Game of the Day: Colorado at Washington State ...

Thoughts on College Football's Week 11 and NFL Week 10

Thoughts on College Football's Week 11 and NFL Week 10 1. Best of the Week Best Game: Lions vs Chargers You have to hand it to the Chargers, they are never boring. Neither team had a pass rush (0 sacks recorded) and both teams made it a point to force feed their top receivers (thank you Keenan Allen for your fantasy output this season). It's crazy to think the Chargers have the highest paid defense in the league, but Derwin James is worth the cost of admission alone on that side of the ball. The Lions may have the best backfield in the NFL and can throw it downfield in shootouts or run the ball with authority.  Best Player: Jalen Milroe (QB) - Alabama I know we pumped his tires last week, but anytime you're the first in Alabama history to do something, you probably had the best weekend in football. Milroe became the first Tide quarterback to both throw and run for 3 TD's in a game. Credit to Tommy Reese for adapting to his signal caller to create an offense that is dy...

College Football Week 11 and NFL Week 10 Preview: 11/09 - 11/13

College Football Week 11 and NFL Week 10 Preview: 11/09 - 11/13 Thursday, November 9th What to Watch For Game of the Day: Virginia at Louisville Jeff Brohm took Purdue to the height of where it realistically can get to as a program and left to go coach his alma mater in his home town. Now, he has those Cardinals on a dream run in his first season. Can they continue to make some noise? Virginia was hapless to start the season, but upset North Carolina a few weeks ago. Can the Wahoo's do it again? Most Entertaining Game: Panthers at Bears This is interesting, as the Bears have the Panther's first round pick. Both teams are bad, but we feel better about the Panthers sucking than the Bears, right? We can see if the Bears really do trust Fields by their play calling, maybe they are ready for the Man of Troy next year. Picks of the Day First Pick: u38.5 (-110) Panthers vs Bears Most of y'all got the win last week, I'll take the push. Sticking with unders in prime time. Frid...
